B 11 Check Fuel Low Pressure Circuit for Leaks

Engine 606.912 IFI

1 Air filter air intake line remove, install.
1a Resonance intake line remove, install.
2 Shaft cover on valve cover remove, install. At the assembly make sure that the leak-off hose from cylinder 1 to the fuel return hose (90/5) is correctly routed.
3 Leak-off hoses (90/3) between the injectors check for leaks, replace if necessary.
4 Leak-off hose (90/3) from cylinder 1 with special pliers disconnect, connect. Caution! Do not pull on hose
5 Suction line to fuel heater (90/1) and fuel return hose (90/5) pinch off with clamps and remove clamps
6 Fuel low pressure circuit drain partially (e.g. disconnecting a fuel line).
7 Pressure tester (019) on leak-off line (90/3) connect, disconnect.
8 Fuel low pressure circuit with 900 mbar pressurize and set pointer.
Maximum pressure drop 20 mbar after 2 minutes
If pressure drop > 20 mbar, check system with soap water (e.g. diluted dishwashing liquid) for leaks.
